The Playboy Interview: George Carlin On what would have been his 89th birthday, revisit George Carlin's first Playboy Interview.
Hailing from the “Peach State” of Georgia, Playboy Club model Alicia Fernandez loves a good football party. Her hometown Atlanta Falcons may have missed the playoffs in 2024-25, but thankfully, Alicia is ready to churn out a batch of sliders for the big game.

Alicia is a talented baker, and this is another recipe that comes fresh out of the oven. If hot sandwiches are your thing, her ham & cheese sliders absolutely cannot miss. Prefer turkey? That’s an easy substitution here!
On the field, the Kansas City Chiefs are seeking their third straight title while the Philadelphia Eagles are attempting to avenge their big-game loss from two years ago. Regardless of any rooting interest, Alicia’s sliders are meant to bring everyone together with warmth and love.
To create the sliders:
Ingredients:
- ½ pound sliced ham
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
- 4 TBL (or ½ stick) butter
- ½ TBL minced garlic
- ¼ TSP salt
- ½ TSP onion powder
- 1 pkg Hawaiian sweet rolls
- Small handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Mayonnaise, as needed
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in microwave safe bowl.
- Mix garlic, onion powder and salt into melted butter until well combined.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place bottom half of rolls into a baking dish and spread mayonnaise thinly over bottom layer.
- Evenly layer ham slices and mozzarella cheese over the rolls in baking dish, then place top half of rolls over the cheese.
- Brush butter mixture over top of rolls as desired.
- Sprinkle chopped parsley evenly over the buttered rolls.
- Place dish in the over and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and rolls are golden brown.
- Upon removal from oven, brush a thin layer of remaining butter mixture over sliders.
- Transfer to cutting board and slice into individual sliders. Enjoy!
This recipe serves up a dozen sliders, but quantities can easily be doubled for larger crowds. You can’t really have “too much” in a scenario like this—the sliders are known to vanish quickly!
